Born 1981, Burma
Kyaw Aung Zin’s family migrated to Australia in 1997. His painting concentrates almost exclusively on reproducing the uniforms and weapons of the Burmese defence forces as well as scenes from the Burmese uprising, named the ‘Saffron Revolution’, led mainly by Buddhist monks. His work is abundant and clustered, with a limited colour palette. Kyaw was recently awarded a scholarship to study art at university.
