Born 1979, Far North Queensland
John Murray identifies as a Girramay person, and he lives at Murray Upper, north-west of Cardwell. He began painting in 2008 and immediately found working creatively a positive outlet for expression and communication.
Murray has developed a very keen interest in expressing his life experiences through his art. His work brings to life the pleasure he takes in fishing, camping and living in the rainforest environment.
John Murray is represented by Girringun Aboriginal Art Centre.
