Adrian King was from the Lama Lama language group of eastern Cape York Peninsula, Far North Queensland. His narrative style focused on his country, and he painted from his own life experiences where hunting, fishing and camping were part of everyday existence.
In Australia King exhibited at Andrew Baker Gallery, Brisbane, KickArts Contemporary Arts, Cairns, and Alcaston Gallery, Melbourne, while his United States exhibitions were held at the Booker Lowe Gallery in Houston and the Santa Fe Art Institute. His work is held in the Queensland Art Gallery Collection, Brisbane.
Adrian King’s estate is represented by Lockhart River Art Centre.
